Sandra Clark Appointed Naugatuck’s Municipal Historian (2008)
On August 5, 2008, the Board of Mayor and Burgesses officially appointed Sandra Clark as Naugatuck’s Municipal Historian. This appointment recognized Sandra’s long-standing dedication to uncovering, preserving, and sharing the rich history of the borough. Her extensive research, writing, and passion for local stories have made her a trusted voice in the community.
Reflecting on her role, Sandra shared-
“Naugatuck has a very illustrious history. Researching has led me to uncover many little known facts and firsts about our community.”
Sandra’s appointment was not only a personal achievement but also a meaningful tribute to her involvement in numerous organizations devoted to history, genealogy, and civic life. Her affiliations at the time included the Daughters of the American Revolution, Naugatuck Women’s Club, Naugatuck Readers Theater, American Legion Auxiliary, Friends of the Library, Connecticut Genealogist, Inc., the Naugatuck Valley Genealogy Club, St. Mary Church Legion of Mary, the Mattatuck Museum, The Women’s Study Club, and the Southern Connecticut State University Alumni Association.
Sandra Clark has continued to share her deep love of Naugatuck’s past, contributing her time, research, and knowledge to help preserve the stories that shape our shared heritage.
