Peter J. Foley
Naugatuck is home to New England’s Oldest Little League Stadium.
The Peter J. Foley Little League field was originally a “sandlot” for the children of U. S. Rubber Company workers. It was officially established in 1949 and was named for Naugatuck High School coach Peter J. Foley (he coached from 1908 until his death in 1946).
Back in June 2019, Peter J. Foley was one of 6 finalists in @scottslawn “Little Field, Big Experience” contest. The grand prize includes a field makeover, pro-game experiences &appearances by MLB talent! Voting went until July 4th.
