March is Irish American Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the deep history and contributions of Irish immigrants and Irish Americans in Naugatuck. The Naugatuck History Museum is seeking photographs, documents, stories, and memorabilia that highlight the Irish experience in our town.
Do you have family photos, personal stories, or historical artifacts that reflect Irish heritage in Naugatuck? Help us ensure that these histories are preserved for future generations!
Examples of What We’re Looking For (But Not Limited To)
Family photographs & personal histories – Irish immigrants and Irish American families in Naugatuck
Immigration records, naturalization papers, or letters from Irish ancestors
Memorabilia from Irish-owned businesses (pubs, bakeries, unions, social clubs)
Church records, school yearbooks, or event programs featuring Irish families
Oral histories & recorded interviews about growing up in an Irish household
Cultural artifacts – Irish dance costumes, traditional music instruments, publications, St. Patrick’s Day memorabilia
Have something different? That’s great too! If it tells the story of Irish life in Naugatuck, we’d love to see it.
