The M. Freidman Co. was founded in 1892, by Morris Freedman, as a general store. Originally sited on the corner of Maple & Church streets it was one of the first businesses to occupy The Neary Building upon its completion. In 1959 the business was switched to a clothing store carrying fashions for the entire family.
