Urban Sketchers Exhibit

Urban Sketchers of Central Connecticut Exhibit
On view through July 12, 2025
Naugatuck History Museum at the Tuttle House

We are proud to share our latest exhibit, featuring the work of the Urban Sketchers of Central Connecticut. This creative and welcoming group of over 300 artists gathers throughout Hartford and New Haven Counties to sketch from life—no lessons or critiques, just a shared appreciation for capturing the world around them.

The exhibit includes beautifully detailed sketches of the Tuttle House, both inside and out, as well as other well-loved landmarks around Naugatuck. What makes this collection especially meaningful is the thoughtful time and care these artists gave to this project.

The group scheduled three visits to the Naugatuck History Museum, including a February 2025 session where each artist chose a favorite spot inside the museum to sketch. (An image from that day is on display as part of the exhibit.) Many of the artists also returned on their own, contributing additional work that reflects their individual styles and connections to the space.

Whether you are a long-time resident, an art lover, or just looking for something different to do, we hope you will stop in and enjoy this inspiring collection. It is a beautiful reminder of how art and community come together.
